Today the Joint Meeting of the 25th Annual Conference “Modern Aspects of Biochemistry and Biotechnology” joint with the Conference of the Young Scientists of the Division of Biochemistry, Physiology and Molecular Biology National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (CYS-2017) was finished.

We are pleased to announce the winners of competition of young scientists. Honourable Scientific Committee scored all oral and poster presentation based on their scientific impact, quality of presentation and answers to questions. 14 Doctors and Professors granted each presenterer by points - from 1 to 10, At the Closing Ceremony the Head of Committee Prof. Lyudmyla Drobot announced the list of winners. She also stressed on the high quality of all presentations. The Committee awarded those of them who received more then 8 of 10 in average.

Poster Session:

1st Prize: Ali Sharafi (Zanjan Pharmaceutical Biotechnology Research Center, School of Pharmacy, Zanjan University of Medical Sciences, Zanjan, Iran). "DIRECT ORGANOGENESIS AND IN VITRO REGENERATION OF MEDICINAL PLANT PLANTAGO LANCEOLATA."

2nd Prize: Olha Krynina (Palladin Institute of Biochemistry National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Kiev, Ukraine). "ROLE OF THE PROHB-EGF HEPARIN-BINDING DOMAIN IN DIPHTHERIA TOXIN BINDING."

Regular Sessions:

1st Prize: Tetyana Forostyan (The University of Utah, School of Medicine, USA). "RBP4 RECEPTOR STRA6L IN CD11C+ IMMUNE CELLS REGULATES DIET-INDUCED GLUCOSE INTOLERANCE AND INSULIN RESISTANCE IN MICE."

2nd Prize: Iryna  Horak (Palladin Institute of Biochemistry of the NAS of Ukraine,  Kyiv, Ukraine). "ADAPTOR PROTEIN RUK/CIN85 INDUCES GENOMIC REPROGRAMMING IN BREAST CANCER CELLS AND THEREBY INCREASES THEIR MALIGNANCY."

3rd Prize: Mariia  Rybak (Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics of the NAS of Ukraine, Kyiv, Ukraine  Proteomics and protein functions). "MUTAGENESIS PROBE INTO EDITING MECHANISM OF D-AMINOACYL-TRNA DEACYLASE FROM T.THERMOPHILUS." 

3rd Prize: Kateryna Uspenska (Palladin Institute of Biochemistry of NAS of Ukraine, Kyiv, Ukraine). "STRUCTURE AND FUNCTIONING OF NICOTINIC ACETYLCHOLINE RECEPTORS IN MITOCHONDRIA."

Oksana Dziuba (Palladin Institute of Biochemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Kyiv, Ukraine). "THE EFFECT OF N-STEAROYLETHANOLAMINE ON ADIPOCYTES FREE FATTY ACIDS COMPOSITION AND PLASMA LEPTIN OF RATS WITH OBESITY-INDUCED INSULIN RESISTANCE."

Anna  Kowalczyk (Department of Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology, Jagiellonian Univeristy, Cracow, Poland). "COLTSFOOT (TUSSILAGO FARFARA) FOR PHYTO-BIOREMEDIATION - DEVELOPING OF A PLANT RESEARCH MODEL."

Nina Kulikova (Agricultural University of Georgia, Tbilisi, Georgia). "A STUDY OF LIPID METHABOLISM REGULATING EFFECT OF POLYPHENOLIC COMPOUNDS ISOLATED FROM GEORGIAN GRAPE SAPERAVI VARIETY ON IN VITRO MODEL OF NON-ALCOHOLIC FATTY LIVER DISEASE (NAFLD)."
